2008 Spring Event at Le Club Boutique / Choozy Shooz

To all who attended our June 4th Womenaid event at Le Club Boutique/Choozy Shooz, thank you, thank you, thank you!  

This event was the epitome of Womenaid - great friends, an amazing community spirit, wonderful food and drink, and, well, shopping!!! Shopping isn't the normal avenue for Womenaid, but Beth Gross-Santos and Jane Holt's generosity in once again opening their store and then donation a share of their sales for the evening was a win-win for all as their selection is so much fun!

Thank you also to Todd Carey of Philbrick's Fresh Market for once again donating such tasty wine. One of his selections is fast becoming the "Womenaid wine" so if you see him at the store, ask him about it! And true to the Womenaid mission, the focus was on bringing together women in the community to interact and engage, and "just be" in the spirit of generosity.  

And generous you all were: we raised over $3000 that evening which, given the increased number of requests we've seen over the past year, will be put to good use quickly. For instance, we have recently received a request to help pay a small amount of back rent for a woman who needed a bridge before getting into subsidized housing, housing which will help reunite her with her daughter. We've said it before, but it is your contributions that allow us to pass along the funding to help in situations such as these, creating a stronger bond with family and community members.  

You are the thread which we use to weave together a stronger community fabric. Thank you for that and for helping us have an evening that many of us won't forget soon (especially those of us who got to dress up and feel glamorous!).
