OUR MISSION
Womenaid was founded to connect those members of our community who want to help, but often aren't aware of how or where the needs of an individual or families may be. For many in our community, a health setback, job loss or unexpected expense can cause significant financial hardship. We work to bring together those that wish to help strengthen and stabilize our community, with those in need, by providing short term financial assistance to our neighbors when they have nowhere else to turn.
SMALL GRANTS. BIG IMPACT.

After an unexpected medical event that changed a family’s financial circumstances, Womenaid was able to help with car repairs to ensure they could safely get to doctors’ appointments and manage all other expenses.

For the man in a wheelchair, caring for his wife with cancer, Womenaid funded a mobility scooter for him to regularly get to the laundromat

Thanks to Womenaid, a mother was able to pay her son’s high school activity fees, allowing him to stay part of the team.

For a family transitioning out of homelessness into a new apartment, Womenaid was able to assist with new mattresses so they could now rest comfortably.

A new hearing aid helped a man reengage with his family and friends.

Having a washer/dryer in her apartment allowed a mother to spend the hours, outside of work, with her children at home rather than at the laundromat
“Knowing that someone cares gave me hope.”
LOCAL GIVING. LOCAL BENEFIT.
RESPONSIBLE SCREENING.
VERIFIED SPENDING
COMMUNITY VALIDATORS
All requests for funds must come from a community Validator: someone working with an individual or family who can verify their need and eligibility for assistance from Womenaid. Validators could work for a community-based organization, such as town welfare department, social service organization, clergy, guidance counselor, nurse, other school staff, etc.
Validators ensure that Womenaid doesn’t duplicate the efforts of the other wonderful organizations in our community.
URGENT NEEDS.
RAPID RESPONSE.
FUNDS GO TO SERVICE PROVIDER
In most cases, Womenaid responds within 24 hours to the request from a Validator. If we approve the request, funds are paid directly to the service provider. We aim to respond quickly, but as an all-volunteer board, we are not able to provide immediate funding in emergencies.
LOCAL FAMILIES.
LOCAL GENEROSITY.
